The Monsters We Sometimes Become is a captivating art exhibit showcasing the evocative works of Nathaniel A.J. Landry, accompanied by an original musical score and live performance by Monoblack. Curated by ELLEmnop.Art, this immersive collaboration delves into the complexities of human emotion, exploring the shadowy corners of identity, transformation, and vulnerability. Each work of art by Landry is paired with a bespoke audio composition by Monoblack, weaving sounds and visuals into a hauntingly beautiful narrative. Together, they invite viewers to reflect on the dualities we possess and the profound ways art can express the inexpressible.

The exhibition includes a new series of original works of art by Nathaniel A.J. Landry.  Each of the artworks have been paired with bespoke songs produced by MONOBLACK, designed to be listened to while viewing each artwork.  Collectively MONOBLACK’S audio compositions make up the exhibit’s original musical score.  “The Monsters…” is a guided, immersive art experience, designed for guests to view the artwork and listen to the paired song in chronological orderAttending guests are guided through the exhibit by The Guardians.

After viewing & listening to the collaborative collection, guests will be escorted to make ‘The Choice’.  ‘The Choice’ holds the final two artworks & songs of the exhibit, representing ‘The Reconcile’ and ‘The Monster’.  ‘The Choice’, your choice, determines the fate of the exhibition’s main character…YOU.  Once ‘Your Choice’ is made, you won’t be able to view or hear the alternative ‘Choice’.  There is no going back.  At the conclusion of the exhibition guests will be allowed to revisit there favorite artworks, participate in the Monster Confessional portals, fellowship with other art lovers, visit the exhibition’s merch setups, food & beverage stations, as well as a concert performance by MONOBLACK.

“Through this exhibition, we hope to encourage introspection, healing, and a greater acceptance of the complexities that define us” – Sensei, Co-Curator

The phrase ‘The Monsters We Sometimes Become’ speaks not only to the external forces that shape our actions but also to the internal battles that sometimes define us.  Experience the unprecedented multimedia art exhibition that transcends traditional art experiences, that invite viewers to confront their deepest emotions.  The works are a reflection of the fragility of the human psyche—the moments when we face our fears, our anger, or our guilt.”

The Monsters We Sometimes Become” is more than an art exhibition, it also is the name of the exhibit’s soundtrack, exclusively available on vinyl.  All of the music was composed by local musician, MONOBLACK and the vinyl’s cover art was designed by Nathaniel A.J. Landry.
