Break Free.

The exhibition doesn’t have a traditional exhibition narrative, only a simple question, “What illusion of yourself have you broken free from?” Gallery visitors are anonymously asked to leave their answer in the space traditionally designated for the exhibition’s narrative. The exhibition breaks even more traditional art world rules…Whitney’s artwork has not been assigned prices or names. “Names and designated prices of art isn’t my thing. It puts the art inside of box that is eternal. If I assign a price and designate a name, the art will live with the conditions I have set for it. It will remain in a box, it will never be free. The person who loves the artwork the most should be responsible for assigning its value and its name.” says, Whitney Banks.
